How I work

My approach is body-oriented and centered around the individual needs, symptoms, and care request of each client.

Many people seeking treatment already understand their difficulties intellectually. They may recognize recurring emotional, behavioural, or relational patterns, yet still find themselves experiencing the same stress responses, physical tension, overwhelm, or difficulties in daily life.

In treatment, we explore how these experiences may also be expressed in the body.

I do not see treatment as something that is done to someone, nor do I believe people need to be “fixed.” Rather, I see therapy as a collaborative process of increasing awareness, exploring patterns, and developing greater understanding of what may support regulation, resilience, and change.

Together, we explore what you may need, at a pace that feels manageable and appropriate.

Restoring the connection with yourself is my primary goal. To achieve this, I invite you to explore and deepen your relationship with your body. I approach this process with genuine curiosity and a non-judgmental attitude. If you find it challenging to connect with your body or struggle to feel its presence, that’s fine. We will explore that together. Societal pressures can often make us feel like we need to perform or meet certain expectations, and I want to create a space where you can simply be yourself without judgment.

What treatment may involve

Treatment starts with an intake session in which we explore your symptoms, experiences, and care request. Based on this assessment, treatment goals are discussed and an individualized treatment plan is developed.

Sessions are body-oriented and may take place through movement, standing, seated work, or treatment on the massage table, depending on your needs and therapeutic goals.

An important part of treatment involves noticing how experiences are reflected in the body. You may notice relaxation, tension, discomfort, numbness, agitation, breathing patterns, or emotional responses. There is no expectation to immediately change or solve what arises. Instead, we work with increasing awareness and understanding of your bodily responses and patterns.

If certain areas of the body feel difficult to sense, tense, or disconnected, we may gently explore this together through body awareness and therapeutic massage techniques.

Depending on your symptoms and treatment goals, sessions may integrate massage therapy, movement-based awareness, breathing awareness, focusing techniques, and body-oriented therapeutic methods inspired by approaches such as Esalen and Trager.

While my approach encompasses the relationship between cognition, emotions, and the body, I always prioritize the body as the starting point.

Remember, in our sessions, everything you think, feel, and sense is welcome. There are no expectations, no right or wrong. I am here to provide a compassionate and non-judgmental space where you can authentically explore and rediscover yourself. Together, we will navigate the path of healing and restoration, one step at a time.
